The resort, nestled in a sleepy corner of the island about 1km away from the airport, is called the Equator Village because it is situated on one of the rare Maldivian resorts lying south of the Zero Degree Latitude.

The Equator Village has bungalows with 78 rooms, all nestled around a lovely garden courtyard with beautiful flowering shrubs. All rooms are spacious with an outside sitting area, and equipped with air-conditioners, refrigerators, and hot and cold showers. There is also satellite TV and IDD telephone services at the resort. In addition, the following facilities are also available: a fully equipped bar, a restaurant that opens out to the garden, and a billiard room with an RAF relic pool table. The freshwater swimming pool has direct access to the beach and has a pool bar as well as a paddling pool for children. Around the pool, there are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas at no cost to hotel guests. For the sports enthusiasts, there are tennis, squash, and volleyball courts, as well as darts, table tennis, catamaran sailing, and windsurfing facilities. Only 25 metres away from the resort is a flourishing house reef, ready for exploratory snorkellers. The resort also has a professionally managed diving base.
